Biography
Trent Stephens received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2011 and his Master of Fine Arts degree in Shakespeare & Performance from Mary Baldwin University in 2022. In the summer of 2008, Trent began as a company member of the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival. Stephens directed an independent production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream that was featured in the November 2013 issue of American Theatre Magazine. Since 2015, Trent has annually served as guest director for Shakespeare by the Sea in Jupiter, Florida, where he has been honored to direct Hamlet (2015), Taming of The Shrew (2016), Love’s Labour’s Lost (2017), Antony and Cleopatra (2018), Romeo and Juliet (2019), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2020/21), and Richard II (2022). Trent formerly served as the director of theatre at Sts. Peter and Paul School, the director of stage acting at Stage Right Acting Studio, and as one of the founding members of both Antagonist Productions and Central Kentucky Improv. Trent is proud to have served as an educational artist for Voices Inside at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex. Over the past decade, he has directed for many companies, but highlights include an AEA production of The Importance of Being Earnest for Athenswest Theatre Company and the world premier tour of Last Call: The Musical in 2019. Trent is married to his beautiful wife, Lisa. He is excited about his return to Palm Beach Atlantic University and praises God for new blessings each day.
